In later years, she took art courses at Art
Student’s League in New York City, as well
as continuing private lessons.
For many years, Jane taught art at The
Stony Brook School, Stony Brook, New
York.  She had a “one-person” show in
The Galerie Internationale in New York City
and has exhibited her work in many other
places.  Since 1977, she and her husband,
Burtis, have lived in Antrim, New
Hampshire, where Jane paints in her

The scriptures form a primary subject for Jane’s paintings, which she often depicts in
symbolic form.  Portraits, landscapes, seascapes, and florals, are also subjects of her work.
“I do not divide the secular and the sacred”, she says, “for to me, it is all sacred.  I look to
God for ideas, help, and energy to pursue excellence in all my work; with the goal of
pleasing Him.”

Jane has published two books of her poetry and one of essays.  She’s also produced a CD
of her poetry.  She is a photographer, and she has greeting card lines; which feature her
photographs, paintings, and Scriptures in calligraphy.  She often includes her paintings,
poetry, and photography when speaking at gatherings or teaching Bible studies.

“In it all,” she says, “it is my quest to seek truth and beauty, and to do
all my work to the glory of God.”
